Week-14 Reflection of the class

After presented, we have talked about overall after 14 weeks.

I feel like this class taught me a lot of interesting scientifically information and also invited the professor Takao for teaching us about how brain works.

Every classes/weeks I think there many useful knowledge and I reall like the Udemy which I could re-study/re-learn anytime

I would like to take this opportunity to thanks all my classmates specially P'Nok and P'Tik for making our group success and super huge thank to Aj. Him for teaching me

Thank you

All super best

Mickey

Week-13 Situation Awareness

In this week I have re-study in Udemy, but the additional activity was making plan and mock-up model for the new re-design control room.

At first we planned about the size of room and then the quantity of tables, chair, screen, etc..
And then scale down by multipy 3/10 to the real scale

And I started to make tables and chairs...

Week-12 Field Trip at Mrt

On that day was an exciting field trip because MRT is normally not on my daily-plan for using it

The control room is huge and kind like a secret room, we cannot take any photoes.

The system quite similar to BTS's control room.

Overall I have so much enjoined this trip.

Thank you

Week-11 Mental workload

Overload and Underload
What is the difference?

Overload is like you handle too many things

Underload is like you have nothing to do, example the security at night job.

Week-8 Human error

Human error

What is the error means? The state or condition of being wrong in conduct or judgement (oxford).

Slip error = Mistake

Mistake ---> Knowledge Based Mistake (declarative memory)
---> Rule Based Mistake (procedure memory)

Lapses ---> Happened in memory stage, Ex. want some food --> walk to kitchen --> open fridge --> forgot what opened for?

Level of Performance and error type.

Week-7 Decision making

For this week is very useful and interesting because we are all living with this.

According the video, The woman was sitting, on her table have a phone and speaker.
So if her speaker are playing the music like this (あいうえお〜〜〜)
and her phone's ring tone is like this (AIUEO〜〜)

It could be ending in 4 possibilities

1. HIT : positive response when there is a signal = the phone is ringing and she picks up the phone (ringtone = signal, speaker music = noise).

2. MISS : negative response when there is a signal = the phone is ringing and she doesn't pick up. (she miss the signal (ringtone))

3. False alarm : positive response when there is no signal = the phone doesn't ring but she check/pick the phone up.

4. Correct rejection : negative response when there is no signal = the phone doesn't ring and she doesn't pick up the phone.

D' (D prime)

In this case = speaker are playing(あいうえお〜〜)the same sound of ringtone(あいうえお〜〜).

Week-6 Attention and mental resources

For this week I didn't joined the workshops
After I took a look at the slides and videos...

So, what is attention? and focus attention?

The equation form of focus attention

Multi-Focusing/Tasking.

When you select to pay attention on one thing, you will miss other things.

Eye tracking is based on focusing the quotation above which the video showed that while you were paying/counting the basketball-passed you will miss the bear moon-walking.

at the last exercises is very interesting for me because I always listening to music with/without headphone and I have noticed some of oldies songs (40s 50s) sound of music instruments and voice were separated.

Week-5 Memory

What is memory? even now for answering this question I am still need to use my own "memory" to define it. So the definition of "Memory" is the process in which information is encoded, stored, and retrieved. Encoding allows information that is from the outside world to reach our senses in the forms of chemical and physical stimuli.

Working Memory

If you face to a lot of numbers which not be ordered, how can you remember it? such as telephone number or credit card number.

The picture showed, chunking the number by " - " and also in dial pad with alphabets a-z you can use the number to represent that like 1-800-flowers.

The function of central executive.

The game of memory... Pairing Cards

For this game we have designed the card for easily to play. So we think about shape first...why not color? because I do think about the user that color-blind so color is very matter and non-matter to them but shapes there are for everybody. So the basic shapes and color that we made are Circle white/black, Triangle white/black, Rectangular white/black, Spear white/black, Heart white/black and Diamond white/black.

Week-4 Perception and eyes

What is perception...?

Perception is the organization, identification, and interpretation of sensory information in order to represent and understand the environment. - Schacter, Daniel (2011)

For me It's looks almost similar to the word "sense". Sense is acutllay a physiological capacity of organisms that provides data for perception.

  • Traditional senses
  • 1 Sight
  • 2 Hearing
  • 3 Taste
  • 4 Smell
  • 5 Touch
  • As you can see in the photos are the comparison between sensation (bottom-up) and perception (top-down) on the same picture.

Perspective of the picture/photograph/painting.

(Bill Brandt. Halifax, 1937. Silver gelatin print,
The photograph shows the perspective)

(André Kertész.Paris, 1927. Silver print.)

(Aert van der Neer. Sports on a Frozen River, 1660.
You can see the perspective point at the sun in the painting)

(Pietro Perugino's usage of perspective in this fresco at the Sistine Chapel)

Picture no.1

Picture no.2

Picture no.3

Picture no.4

As you can see in picture no.1 There is very obviously that two little girl are not the same size but follow to the picture no.2,3 and 4 you can see that this two little are actually the same size. Why was that!? The picture including the furnitures were fool your brain when looking with the perspective line that two girl are not the same size but the picture no.2,3 and 4 showed that in the left corner behind the red sofa actually had a stair, so the left girl was not stand in the same plane as the right girl.

Week-3 Brain function and measurement (Ph.D. Motoharu Takao)

According to the Ph.D. Takao's lecture about the function of brain, part by part.

Brain's Basis Map.

Brain Anatomy Of A Christian By Savedart.

In each part of brain, How its perceive.

So, before this class, brain for me is very hard to understand and analyze it because I think brain is a complicating organ and also human have a lot of emotions which are not stable and also it is working in your head, how could you know, analyze, test or try out how it work while human is living (not died).

Ph.D. Takao with brain analyzing equipment.

Ph.D. Takao, meditating for the graph's wave result.

The equipment is better use for short hair or non-hair human to catch, match the brain's wave.

Pete try to make the meditation but result in the graph is...haha

Week-2 Information processing.

Today we learnt through the model of Information Processing.
Firstly you have to know the meaning and role of each squares.

Photograph of my sketchbook/notebook.

Then we got the exercises to do, from the short stories, we have to understand in each sentences and analyze into the model.
